Fishing
  • The beautiful Niangua River is fed by the spring in Bennett Spring State Park, at approx. 100,000,000 gallons of water a day. The cold, clear spring water offers excellent fishing for rainbow and trophy brown trout, goggle eye and small mouth bass.
  • The portion of river above the flow of the spring is warmer water and is floatable in the spring in good rain years. There are abundant small mouth bass and a variety of other species for fishing.
  • Weekday floats and camping allows you opportunity to enjoy excellent fishing and scenery on a less crowded river. Short 3 1/2 - 4 mile floats give flexibility in float times and plenty of time to fish and play.
  • Reservations and Deposits are required for weekend Floats. However, if wanting to avoid crowds, consider a float through the week.
